Last night during the NBA Western Conference Finals, Activision released the first video showing gameplay from the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Whileofficial news has been sparse and undoubtably being held until the E3 Expo in Los Angeles next month, there are plenty of circulating around the internet. Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist for Infinity Ward confirmed this week that Call of Duty multiplayer will remain free and that all scenes in the trailer are actual gameplay. As of now, he would only confirm Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and PC as platforms for Modern Warfare 3.
As reported previously, Modern Warfare 3 will be out on November 8th and Infinity Ward is working on this title, although not exclusively. Retailers have already begun taking preorders on this expectedly huge title. Gamestop is offering an exclusive full sized, two sided poster (pictured) with the inverse as a fictional Time magazine cover. A deposit of at least $5 is required. The teaser video shows, MW3 will again be a global event with a variety of types of gameplay. While the multiplayer is exclusively a shooter, the single player will offer other varied types of action.
The only other gameplay details confirmed are that it will run at 60 frames per second. While there will be multiple collector packages for the game, Activision has not finalized them. Again it is important to note that while some of the rumors circulating may end up being true, the game is still in development and subject to change.
