Konami offering Metal Gear Rising demo with Zone of the Enders HD Collection

One of the most impressive games at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles this year was Konami’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.  The game has been dangled in front of Xbox 360 owners for years and though admission to the closed off room in the Los Angeles Convention Center was tight, playing as Raiden didn’t disappoint.  First introduced on the Playstation 2, Raiden’s specialty is swordplay as opposed to the more gun oriented Metal Gear Solid main protagonist, Snake.

Konami today announced the launch date of October 30, 2012 for Zone of the Enders HD Collection on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360.  Konami will also include a demo of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, along with the retail version of Zone of the Enders at launch. The demo will be the first time the general public will be able to experience the title’s ‘cut at will’ game mechanic.

Developed by Kojima Productions, the Zone of the Enders HD Collection will include fan favorites Zone of the Enders and the European special edition version of its sequel Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. This will be the first time these games are available in fully remastered HD, and the first time this version of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner has been released in North America.

The Zone of the Enders series features the engrossing storytelling of Hideo Kojima, paired with thrilling robot fights in a futuristic interplanetary setting. Players experience high-flying robot combat as they grab enemies, unleash a whirlwind of blade strikes and fire off guns from a distance, all while spiraling freely in open air. Partnering with legendary animation house Sunrise, Zone of the Enders HD Collection will also include a brand new opening animation, as well as enhanced resolution renders of the original opening animations from the original games.
