New details on The Witch and the Hundred Knight

WHK1_PS3-jewelcase_USA (252x320)Your favorite importers of just about anything RPG related from Japan have just released a handful of new art from “The Witch and the Hundred Knight.” The game is somewhat of a departure from NIS America’s usual fare of strategy and turn-based RPGs. “The Witch and the Hundred Knight” is a top down hack and slash RPG, akin to games like “Diablo,” but with NIS America’s typical anime/manga flavor.  The game will be available March 25, 2014 in retail locations and through the Playstation store for Sony’s Playstation 3.

The witch Metallia is fed up with being unable to travel beyond the borders of her swamp and forges a contract with the legendary Hundred Knight to help her realize her ambition of spreading her swamp throughout all of Medea.   Playing as the Hundred Knight, your mission is to do whatever your master, the Swamp Witch, commands. Explore the world, destroy Pillars built to prevent her swamp from spreading, and wreak indiscriminate havoc. Throughout the game, you begin to wonder what prevents Metallia from leaving the swamp and why the other witches shun her.  How can she survive in a swamp that is notorious for how poisonous its fumes are and is Metallia really a witch to respect, or is she one to fear?

20131213112713“The Witch and the Hundred Year Knight” is sure to offer a fair amount of camp and inappropriate sexual humor.  That of course shouldn’t shock or surprise many NISA fans. Though you might not want to play while your grandmother is in the room, the gameplay does appear compelling enough to warrant a serious play time.  Here are the latest screens from the game.  Of course a couple of the captures are a bit racy, but the rest of the game looks like it will be a lot of fun too.
