For many RPG fans, a Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Mass Effect team up is like the chocolate and peanut butter perfection that is a Reese’s Cup, “Two great tastes that taste great together.” While many Mass Effect fans are smoldering over the Mass Effect 3 ending, Los Angeles based Square Enix North America has released the latest in a steady stream of DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Included in the upcoming download are new outfits and Coliseum opponents.
The latest addition to Final Fantasy XIII-2, announced today is Commander Shepard’s N7 armor design, from EA/Bioware’s Mass Effect series. The armor will be available on March 27th, for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 as an optional costume for both main characters Serah Farron and Noel Kreiss from Final Fantasy XIII-2. Final Fantasy’s long time villains Ultros and Typhoon will be added as Coliseum opponents in the DLC. Of course, Ultros can also be recruited into the party after his defeat.
More Mass Effect DLC is expected for the latest Final Fantasy game, including something that will tie in Mass Effect’s Liara T’Soni. Mass Effect’s Liara and Final Fantasy XIII and XII-2’s Lightning are both voiced in the English versions by Ali Hillis. At this time, Square Enix and Bioware have not released any further details regarding the content of future DLC or its release schedule.
