Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland coming this week

It’s funny how timing works, with what may at first glance, seem to be totally unrelated events.  In case you weren’t aware, just a couple of weeks ago, Long Beach, California was the location of the Alchemy Conference.  The conference focuses mainly on New Age metaphysics in addition to classical Alchemy but Alchemy is the centerpiece of NIS America’s latest Playstation 3 exclusive JRPG release, this week.  Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland is the story of an alchemist and her travels around Arland.

Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland takes place several years after the events of the previous game, Atelier Rorona.  The Adventurer of Arland begins in the small fishing village of Alanya on the Arland Republic’s southern border and is home to the young alchemist-in-training, Totooria Helmold. She is called Totori by her friends and family, and she not surprisingly, wishes to become a great adventurer. One day, she resolves to make the journey to Arland, become an adventurer, and explore the world beyond her hometown.

Throughout the game, players will synthesize weapons, and explosives, travel a vast map, exploring unique and beautiful locales and make many friends. Totori’s journey of discovery will dictate whether she finds the answers to her questions, forges unbreakable bonds with friends, or take different paths entirely.  Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland‘s classic turn-based RPG combat brings strategy and a sense of nostalgia for gamers new and old multiple unique endings. Through the course of the game

At the time of this writing Gamestop still has copies of the regular and limited edition still available for pre order.   At only ten dollars more, the Limited Edition including an art book, cd soundtrack and alternate cover is a steal.
